Often called a "Jewish roots band," The Klezmatics is the vanguard in a popular revival of the ages-old, nearly forgotten klezmer art form. They've collaborated with Itzhak Perlman, Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner and Israeli vocal icon Chava Alberstein. After 25 years, three original members�Lorin Sklamberg (lead vocals, accordion, guitar, piano), Frank London (trumpet, keyboards, vocals) and Paul Morrissett (bass, tsimbl, vocals)� alongside longtime members Matt Darriau (kaval, clarinet, saxophone, vocals) and Lisa Gutkin (violin, vocals), continue sharing music made for dancing with the world.

Arguing and feuding, each only takes comfort in growing affections with their respective anonymous pen pals � unaware they are corresponding with each other! Lovely music by the team who created Fiddler on the Roof makes this a delightful gem of true romance and holiday cheer.

The Met's unforgettable production of Verdi's ancient Egyptian drama stars Liudmyla Monastyrska as the enslaved Ethiopian princess caught in a love triangle with the heroic Radames, played by Roberto Alagna, and the proud Egyptian princess Amneris, sung by Olga Borodina. Fabio Luisi conducts.
