The Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra is made up of 60-70 members including staff, students, faculty, music and non-music majors - all with a love of music! The Orchestra is devoted to performing orchestral music from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. This concert will be one of three performances the orchestra puts on for Notre Dame's campus.

A young boy from a Filipino fishing village has died while working as a diver on a Leviathan fishing trawler, one that uses the controversial Muro-ami style of fishing that has since been outlawed. In this play, a mother is guilt-ridden about her son's death. In her village's Good Friday tradition, a man is elected to portray Christ and be crucified. The mother wants to perform this role as penance for sending her own child to the Muro-ami. This play powerfully addresses child labor laws, religion and environmental issues.
