Gene Bruce, President of the South Bend Civic Theatre Board of Directors, has released the following statement:

“As President of the Board of Directors of South Bend Civic Theatre, I am announcing a recent change in leadership at the theatre.

On Wednesday July 25th the theater’s board of directors unanimously voted to offer the post of Interim Executive Director to Mark Abram-Copenhaver.  Mark is not new to the Michiana community or to SBCT.  He has served on the board of the theatre for a number of years including two terms as board vice-president.  Mark had directed many productions here at SBCT (most recently, “Superior Donuts”) and at Saint Mary's College, where he is an Associate Professor of Theatre. Mark also serves as Production Manager for the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival and, along with his wife Jewel Abram Copenhaver, ran a performing arts school for several years in the Philadelphia area.

The search for a permanent Executive Director will begin soon.  But for now, the board of directors, staff, and our wonderful family of volunteers welcome Mark to his new leadership role in this organization that we all support so passionately.”
